Limits on central government authority

  • The Sanhedrin, the President, the government of Yehodaya, and every arm of the state derive their authority to enact and enforce laws necessary for maintaining public order, supervising the Executive Branch, and safeguarding national security solely from the purpose of protecting the individual rights set forth in this Bill.
  • No presidential regulation, law of the Sanhedrin, or constitutional provision may authorize the government to intervene in a person’s private life, economic affairs, or personal choices, provided that those choices do not infringe upon the rights of others.
  • Taxation and the mobilization of resources for state purposes shall be determined solely in the manner prescribed by the Constitution and/or the laws of the Sanhedrin and shall be limited to the minimum necessary for the performance of the state’s essential functions as guardian of liberty and security.
